Day 2 Of The Championships

Today was yet another tough day for us. For many of us, the 500m races were the most important, and the atmosphere was very tense right from the beginning.

We started of the day just like the day before with a mental preparation, a cheer, and the bus ride to Macritchie resevoir. I don't really remember which event came first, but i know we started off with Fen Yit's race. He was injured, having torn his obliques, but jiaolian taped him up, and he gave his all and got third in his race, which meant that he got in to the semi's! Go Fen yit! Jonathan really tried his best in his K1 500m race, but he still got fourth, thats okay we know he tried his best!

Benji had a really scary race, and it was still the race that gave us the most chills, even though his race only had 3 competitors. The wind was unnaturally strong, strong enough to cause even our senior Xin Yang to capsize, but Benji pushed on. He rowed stroke by stroke, focusing so that he would not swerve out of his lane or capsize, and he crossed the finish. The wind soon led to a huge storm, and the competion has to be suspended due to the lightning alert.

We only could resume our fight after a few hours.

Brandon's T1's race was next, and he really did us proud by finishing first with tons of energy to spare. He was conserving for his T2 race with Joshua, and they too showed our competitors what they were made of, and finished first by huge margins.

My race was next, and I was nervous for my K1 500m race. I tried my best, and I got first in my heats.

Right after my race, Faiz's race was up, and he too got first! The ever nervous shaun and gabriel also kicked some ass, by getting first in their K2 race!

The sec 1's really fought their hearts out for the team, and I think it is safe to say that the entire C' div team is proud of them. Little Nicholas was behind everyone at the start, but he pushed himself to the limits, and managed to edge out the other competiors and get 3rd, ensuring a place in the semi's. King and Joels race was similar, and they too pushed their way to a close finish of 3rd place. The senior's also did really well, with most boats at least getting to the semi's.

Today was really a tough day for many of us, but we fought hard, and got the results to show for our efforts. The C'div title is edging closer and closer towards us, and it is within reach. We ARE going to win this, we have worked our butts off, and we are ready, we are strong, and we are definitely warrior's at heart! GO SJI!!!! "PING"!
