National Cross Country

Ok, I know I have this habit of posting really old events but sorry. Anyway, this was like 2 or 3 weeks ago, all the sec 2's in SJI had to go and help out in the National Cross Country Championship held at Temasek Polytechnic. We were split to do our duties according to CCA, so all the canoeists stuck together. At first, our duties were supposed to be "rear-runners", to follow the last person in the race in order to make sure everybody finishes the race and to help those who were feeling ill.

However, due to OUR competition which was 2 weeks away then, Joshua spoke to the person-in-charge and we got pulled out to do "hold the rope" duty, which needed us to hold a long rope to mark the start line, in the scorching hot sun. Though it was'nt so bad, we got a pic with Mr Lui! However I must say, we were all bored and tired at the same time, and most of us cursed Joshua for pulling us out.

Luckily, Shaun brought some ham and cheese sandwiches, and we gobbled them down instantly. Our last job for the day was to untie the ropes on trees and return them, though we took kinda long cuz we are not scouts. That was when Peter and Brandon started to fool around in a trolley. Anyway, SJI won both the C and B Division title for the cross country, so CONGRATS! I hope the canoeists do the same too!

After the whole event, we took an hour long bus ride back to Novena where we had our lunch. We were all exhausted, but after witnessing the victory of the SJI Cross Country Team, we were all spurred on to go to training, so we too could win our C' Div title for the SJI CANOEING TEAM!
